BETH'S POWWOW THREADS

I am a Native Woman ( 1/2 Lakota & 1/2 French).  My husband is also Native (Mohawk & Irish).  We have 5 children.  We live in Mohawk & Algonquin territory.  All of the children (who are old enough to walk) dance with me.

I have been sewing since I was a child.  I started beading & making regalia in my early 20's.  As a child of the 60's scoop I did not grow up with my culture.  Our local community has taught me much and are to credit with these skills and abilities I know have, along with the teachings that go along with these skills.  I am thankful to all who have helped me reach this level of knowledge and skills.

Locally I encourage people to learn as I make their regalia so that I can pass on this knowledge and these skills.   I know that not everyone has someone to learn from or the time to do so.  And in our busy lives of this modern world we need each other more then ever.  I appreciate all who chose me to carry out the honour of making their regalia.  I THANK YOU  for you have helped me by allowing me to work at home with my children.
